Vintage Silver-Plated Butter Dish & Mother-of-Pearl Serving Knife

An elegant vintage serving set pairing a silver-plated EP brass butter dish with removable pressed-glass liner and a decorative mother-of-pearl handled serving knife.

The covered butter dish features a classic rectangular form with ornate shell and gadrooned detailing, a decorative finial, and a fitted clear glass insert with a starburst-cut base. The accompanying knife is particularly charming, with a luminous carved mother-of-pearl handle, decorative metal collar and an engraved blade featuring scrolling foliate ornamentation.

The pieces are not necessarily original to one another, but have been thoughtfully paired for their complementary period character and make a beautiful addition to a collected table.

The silver plate and knife show age-appropriate patina, surface marks and wear consistent with vintage use. Please refer to photographs for condition.
