Vintage French Art Glass Fish Bowl / Vide-Poche

A beautifully sculptural vintage French art glass dish in the form of a fish, crafted from substantial clear glass with wonderfully dimensional fins, tail and facial detailing.

The fish surrounds a deep circular well at the centre, transforming the figurative form into a functional vide-poche or small decorative bowl. Ribbed detailing across the fins and tail contrasts with the smooth, heavy body, allowing the clear glass to catch and refract light from every angle.

The underside bears an etched French maker’s signature, adding an important element of provenance to the piece. With its playful subject rendered in substantial crystal-like glass, it has the decorative character associated with late-20th-century French art glass.

Beautiful as a jewellery dish, catchall, small serving piece or simply as a sculptural glass object.
