Vintage 1974 Ceramic Shell Bowl / Catchall

Beautiful vintage ceramic shell bowl dating to November 1974, featuring an organic sculptural form inspired by a large open seashell. Finished in a creamy ivory glaze with a subtle pearlescent lustre, the surface catches the light beautifully and emphasizes the deeply molded ridges and irregular shell edges.

The underside retains the impressed “NOV 1974” date together with “PAT”, an especially nice detail that gives the piece a firmly documented 1970s origin. The opening in the underside appears to be part of the original construction/manufacturing rather than damage.

A lovely example of the coastal and nature-inspired decorative ceramics popular during the period. It works beautifully today as a jewelry or ring dish, catchall, small serving/display bowl, or simply as a sculptural object on a coffee table, vanity or shelf. The creamy neutral colour also makes it very easy to mix into modern, coastal, organic or eclectic interiors.
