Vintage Sussex Plate Silver-Plated Scallop Shell Dish

Vintage Sussex Plate Silver-Plated Scallop Shell Dish | Made in Canada | 7” × 6”

A beautifully ornate vintage silver-plated shell dish by Sussex Plate, featuring an elegant scallop shell silhouette, richly sculpted detailing, and a classic Sheffield-inspired design.

Made in Canada, this decorative piece draws inspiration from traditional English silverware, combining the graceful form of a seashell with intricate ornamental craftsmanship. The deeply fluted interior radiates outward into a softly scalloped edge, creating a beautiful interplay of light and reflection across the polished silver-plated surface.

At the upper edge, an elaborate shell and scrolling foliage motif adds a refined decorative flourish, while the dish rests on three small rounded feet that gently elevate it from the surface.

The underside bears the original Sussex Plate manufacturer’s mark, identifying the piece as a Sheffield reproduction made in Canada.

Originally intended as a small serving or decorative dish, this versatile piece is equally beautiful repurposed as a jewelry holder, vanity tray, or elegant catchall for treasured accessories. Its sculptural form also makes it a lovely standalone accent on a coffee table, bedside table, or decorative shelf.

A timeless addition to a thoughtfully curated home, particularly suited to romantic, coastal-inspired, and traditional interiors where vintage silver brings character and understated elegance.
